REVEALED: The shirt number Gabriel Jesus wants at Manchester City

The 19-year-old is weeks away from his debut in the Premier League after leaving Palmeiras and hopes to take the no.33 shirt with him from his time in Brazil

Gabriel Jesus has revealed which shirt number he has requested at Manchester City as he prepares for life in the Premier League.

‘Man City not as good as Pep thinks’

The Brazilian starlet completed a move to the Eithad Stadium during the summer, becoming one of Pep Guardiola’s seven arrivals in a deal worth in excess of £27 million, but remained with Palmeiras until the conclusion of the 2016 Brasileiro Sere A season.

Palmeiras were crowned champions, their first in 22 years, and the Brazil international flew to Manchester to watch Chelsea run out 3-1 winners at the weekend.

Jesus is now hoping to wear the same shirt number from his time with his boyhood club, telling ESPN: “I had told them it’s hard without the 33. I want this number because I used it since I was promoted at Palmeiras.”

The 19-year-old has made a big impact in 2016. In addition to winning a league tile, Jesus has also established himself in the Brazil national team with four goals in just six appearances.
