Europa League Outright Betting Update – Europa League Odds

Manchester United are the general 4/1 favourites to win this season’s Europa League, even though their draw in the last 16 may not be as favourable as first appeared.

Opponents Saint-Etienne are only mid-table in France’s Ligue 1 but they have already held Monaco and PSG to draws this season and it shouldn’t be forgotten that Jose Mourinho’s team lost two of their three away matches in the group stages and only qualified in second spot. With the next round of matches still a couple of months away, who knows what United’s priorities will be by the time they face the French side in the first leg at Old Trafford and this is not a competition in which the Red Devils have any real history though they have, of course, won the European Cup/Champions League three times.

Europa League Outright Winners Unibet Current Odds

Manchester United (4/1), Tottenham Hotspur (9/1), Roma (13/1), Shakhtar Donetsk and Athletic Bilbao (14/1), Zenit St Petersburg (15/1), Schalke 04 and Villareal (17/1), Olympique Lyonnaise and Fiorentina (20/1), Borussia Moenchengladbach (25/1), Ajax Amsterdam and Celta Vigo (35/1), Fenerbahce (40/1)

Spurs (9/1 with Unibet) look better value at this stage. They were disappointed to go out of the Champions League at the group stage, surprisingly losing twice at Wembley, but an early exit from Europe’s premier club competition has done Sevilla no harm in the Europa League in recent years. Los Rojiblancos will not be defending their crown this season and Tottenham are definitely possible successors. They’ve dropped a little off the pace in the Premier League but look a class outfit compared to many teams in the Europa League and they won the old Fairs Cup/UEFA Cup in 1972 and 1984. Gent of Belgium will struggle to contain Harry Kane and co over two legs in the last 16 and then the door is wide-open.

You can bet on a wide variety of sports. As a major player in the European market, the punter can bet on most sports including Tennis, Golf and Football with the odds usually competitive (the Europa League being a good example).

The Primera Liga is represented this season by Athletic Bilbao and Villareal but neither make much appeal at a general 16/1 and 25/1 if the other top sides take this competition seriously. Serie A sides Roma and Fiorentina are also prominent in the outright betting but the likes of Zenit St Petersburg and Shakhtar Donetsk will also view this competition as a possible back-up route to next season’s Champions League, though both usually win their domestic leagues with something to spare.
