The Brazilian helped the Blues to victory at Manchester City on Saturday, but had been linked with a move to Old Trafford after a spell on the sidelines
EXCLUSIVE
Willian has been the subject of speculation linking him to Manchester United and a reunion with his old manager, Jose Mourinho, but a source has told Goal that “there is nothing in it”.
Messi’s big chance to surpass Ronaldo
The 28-year-old is expected to stay at Chelsea having only signed a new contract in July that keeps him at the club until 2020. He also spoke about ending his career at Stamford Bridge in an October interview.
Willian found himself out the team after he flew to Brazil to mourn his mother’s death after a long-term battle with cancer. Pedro stepped in and has since started seven games in the eight-match winning run that has seen Chelsea rise to the top of the Premier League table.
The Brazil international, though, has since made a move to reclaim the berth, coming off the bench against Manchester City to score what proved to be the decisive goal in a 3-1 victory on Saturday.
Additionally, Antonio Conte reaffirmed his commitment to his Samba star last week, describing him as “unlucky” over his lack of game time.
At Old Trafford, meanwhile, Mourinho is not looking to sign an attacking midfielder, as Manchester United have a wealth of options in that area.
Willian met his agent Junior Mendonza in London ahead of his side’s game with Manchester City, but the talks did not centre around a possible move.
